Biblical Christianity

What is true Biblical salvation? Can someone be saved and continue to live a sinful lifestyle. Or, does God perform a transforming work in our lives? What does it mean to be a "New Creature" in Christ? 90% of Americans claimed to be saved. Is salvation an emotional decision that we make on our own in an effort to avoid hell, or, is salvation the work of God alone? Let's look at scripture and see what God says about the new life in Christ!

John 3:3-7 (Your Born Again)

Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, unless you are born again, you cannot see the Kingdom of God.”

“What do you mean?” exclaimed Nicodemus. “How can an old man go back into his mother’s womb and be born again?”

Jesus replied, “I assure you, no one can enter the Kingdom of God without being born of water and the Spirit. Humans can reproduce only human life, but the Holy Spirit gives birth to spiritual life. So don’t be surprised when I say, ‘You must be born again.

1 John 3:1 (You become a Child of God)

See how very much our Father loves us, for he calls us his children, and that is what we are! But the people who belong to this world don’t recognize that we are God’s children because they don’t know him.

Romans 8:15-16 (God is your Father)

So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as his own children. Now we call him, “Abba, Father.” For his Spirit joins with our spirit to affirm that we are God’s children.

2 Corinthians 5:17 (You have New Life)

This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!

1 Corinthians 12:13 (Added to the Body of Christ)

Some of us are Jews, some are Gentiles, some are slaves, and some are free. But we have all been baptized into one body by one Spirit, and we all share the same Spirit.

Romans 5:5 (The Holy Spirit lives in you)

And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.

1 Corinthians 6:11 (Cleansed and made holy)

But you were cleansed; you were made holy; you were made right with God by calling on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

2 Corinthians 5:21 (Your made righteous)

For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

Colossians 3:3 (New life hidden in Christ)

For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.

Colossians 3:4 (Look forward to Christ return)

And when Christ, who is your life, is revealed to the whole world, you will share in all his glory.
