10 Commandments

Do you consider yourself to be a good person? Most people do. Most people think they are good enough to go to heaven when they die, I mean God's all loving right? Most people don't realize that God has set a day when he will come back and pass judgment on the entire world.

The 10 Commandments are Gods standard of goodness. Go through and read each one and see how many you have broken.

From Exodus chapter 20:
1) You must not have any other God but me.
2) You must not make for yourself an idol of any kind or an image of anything in the heavens or on the earth or in the sea.
3) Do not take the name of the Lord your God in vain.
4) Remember to observe the Sabbath day by keeping it holy.
5) Honor your father and mother.
6) You must not murder.
7) You must not commit adultery
8) You must not steal.
9) You must not lie.
10) You must not covet your neighbors house.

If God judged you by the 10 Commandments would you be innocent or guilty? Would you go to heaven or hell?

I don't know about you but I am guilty of every one except murder. But wait, Jesus said that if you even hate a brother you commit murder in your heart. Some of you might say "I have never committed adultery" but Jesus said if you look at a person to lust after them you have committed adultery with them in your heart. So you see, God not only judges our actions, but he will also judge the heart!

So what does this mean? We are all going to hell? I mean everybody has broken those commandments. Revelation 21:8 says: But cowards, unbelievers, the corrupt, murderers, the immoral, those who practice witchcraft, idol worshipers, and all LIARS- their fate is in the fiery lake of burning sulfur(HELL). This is the second death.

God does not want you to go to hell, But he must judge evil doers. I mean how would you feel if someone killed your whole family and the judge just let them go because they said sorry. That would be just as evil as the crime itself. That's why we can't just ask God for forgiveness and be done with it, we can't just go to confession every week, we must pay the price for our sins. What's the price? Eternity in hell!!

THE GOOD NEWS!! God made a way for us to be declared innocent on the day of judgment! He sent his Son Jesus Christ, born of a virgin to pay the price for our sins! This is the greatest act of kindness in all of history! Jesus died a criminals death on a cross 2,000 years ago so that you can go free! That is why Jesus is so precious to those of us who believe! John 3:16 for God so loved the world he sent His only begotten son that whoever believe in him shall not perish but have everlasting life! we all know this verse, but not all of us believe.

Jesus said "Repent for the kingdom of Heaven is near". Repent means you turn your back on your sinful ways. If you repent and put your faith in Jesus and believe what he did for you, the Bible says you will be saved.

You might have many problems in your life right now, maybe financial, maybe health, maybe relationships are broken, but let me tell you the only problem that matters is the SIN problem! The sin in your life is what's gonna send you to hell! It sounds harsh but its the Gods honest truth.

Don't wait friend, when you get a chance to be alone today, ask Jesus for this gift of forgiveness and eternal life! The Lord is merciful, he is giving you time to repent and trust in Him. The Lord calls out to you like a father calls out to his lost children with love and patients. Don't throw your life away,  you will spend eternity somewhere, the only question is where?
