Joshua 1:2 "Moses my servant is dead. Therefore, the time has come for you to lead these people, the Israelites, across the Jordan River into the land I am giving them. I promise you what I promised Moses: 'Wherever you set foot, you will be on the land I have given you...
Observation:
Joshua was chosen by God because the Lord saw his faith. Joshua had one job: to lead the Israelites into the promised land. The Lord also gave him these encouraging words over and over, "No one will be able to stand against you as long as you live. For I will be with you as I was with Moses. I will not fail you or abandon you."
Application:
Just like the Lord chose Joshua to lead the people into the promised land, He has chosen us Christians to lead people of this world to Jesus Christ and the Kingdom of Heaven. We carry a very special treasure called the Gospel or Good News! God has given us promises as well like Romans 8:37, how we are more than conquerors because of Christ, and 1 John 4:4 we have a Spirit living in us which is greater than the spirit of the world. So... the Lord has given us everything we need to lead people into the Kingdom of Heaven, and the Bible says (2 Timothy 1:7) that he has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and love.
Prayer:
Dear Lord, thank you for the wonderful gifts you lavish on your children, thank you for my salvation. Thank you for dying on the cross and taking the punishment for my sins, thank you for making a way for me. I was on my way to hell, but by your grace and mercy and kindness you saved me! Thank you for my Wife and my daughter! Give me the boldness I need to share your gospel. In Jesus name, Amen!
