FROM THE BOOK OF RUTH
Scripture:
Ruth 2:14 At mealtime Boaz called to her(Ruth), "Come over here, and help yourself to some food. You can dip your bread in the sour wine." So she sat with his harvesters, and Boaz gave her some roasted grain to eat. She ate all she wanted and still had some left over.
Observation:
Ruth was faithful to the Lord, and because of her love for her mother-in-law Naomi, Ruth passed up moving away to worship other gods. Ruth said to Naomi, (Ruth 1:16-18) "Don't ask me to leave you and turn back. Wherever you go, I will go; wherever you live, I will live. Your people will be my people, and your God will be my God. Because of her faithfulness the Lord blessed her richly and guided her steps. The verse says that she ate all she wanted and still had some left over.
Application:
Endurance is important. Through good times and bad times. Remaining faithful is important. Praying and fasting and reading my Bible even when I don't feel like it is important. Tithing faithfully is important even when I'm broke. Ruth is a good example for us, her husband had just died in chap.1 and they just came out of a severe famine, but the Lord blessed her because of her faithfulness to Him and to Naomi.
Prayer:
Lord thank you for blessing me, thank you for eternal life! I pray that you would provide us with a new building. I pray for the healing of your people who are sick, I pray for financial breakthrough for those who are affected by our economy. I pray that marriages would be reconciled. In Jesus name, Amen
