Good News!

Scripture: Romans 1:16-17  For I am not ashamed of this Good News about Christ. It is the power of God at work, saving everyone who believes- the Jew first and also the Gentile. This Good News tells us how God makes us right in his sight. This is accomplished from start to finish by faith. As the Scriptures say, "It is through faith that a righteous person has life."

Observation: Everyone who believes will be saved, it is by faith that we have life. This is Good News! That we can be made right in God's eyes, by faith in Jesus Christ, the one who paid the price for our sins. I love this scripture because the Apostle Paul is telling us how to have eternal life. He is telling us that we don't have to be condemned on Judgement Day! It's kind of like: We were drowning in the ocean, and God threw us a life raft. We were trapped in a burning building sleeping, and God woke us up and saved us. We were sitting on death row waiting to be sat in the electric chair, but God pardoned us and set us free! This is Good News!

Application: Half the people I send e-mails to are Christians, the other half are not Christians. In all my journals I always try to talk about the Good News, the Gospel. I always try to impress the fact that we are born cursed because of sin, and that God has set up a day when He will judge every person. I also try to declare the goodness of God in Jesus Christ. I try to impress the fact that Jesus paid the price on the cross so that we can be declared innocent on the last day. I always try to impress the importance of turning away from your sinful ways and turning to God(Repentance). I always try to impress the importance of faith in Jesus Christ.

Prayer: Dear Lord I pray for the person reading this email who is not saved, I pray for those who are not Born Again. I pray that the Good News would plant a seed in the heart of the unbeliever. I pray for the person that is trusting 50% in Jesus and 50% in their own goodness. I pray for those who are already saved, that you would strengthen them on this journey to the Kingdom of God. In Jesus name, Amen!
