And immediately he(Paul) proclaimed Jesus in the synagogues saying, "He is the Son of God." (Acts 9:20)
Observation:
This scripture is about the Apostle Paul, who use to be named Saul. He had just been converted and become a follower of Jesus Christ. He was blind for 3 days and he didn't eat or drink anything. But the Bible says that after a few days he went into the synagogues and started witnessing to the people by saying, "Jesus is the Son of God". The Bible also says that his testimony confounded the Jews in Damascus by proving that Jesus was the Christ. I love that! He proved to them that Jesus was the Christ.
Acts 9:22b
... and confounded the Jews who lived in Damascus by proving that Jesus was the Christ.
Application:
Paul had just become a believer, and right away he is already witnessing to people. This is amazing to me! In a day when all we care about is church attendance, and programs and activities, and personal devotions, I am reminded by Paul that I need to witness to people! I need to tell people, "He is the Son of God". I think I have shared the gospel with maybe 60% of my co-workers, but what about the other 40%? Man... it would be sad for someone to work next to me everyday, but not know what Jesus has done for them because I didn't tell them!
Charles Spurgeon said:
"If you don't desire to see others saved, then you can be sure your not saved yourself."
Prayer:
Dear Lord, I am so convicted by writing this journal. Help me to share the gospel with others. help me to get my priorities straight. Thank you for sending someone to share the gospel with me. Thank you for my salvation! Thank you for saving me from the fires of hell! Put me on the right path Lord! In Jesus name, Amen!
