Scripture:
And he(Jesus) awoke and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, "Peace! Be still!" And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.(Mark 4:39)
Observation:
The scripture says: And he awoke, It is amazing that he can do this awesome miracle right after waking up. I don't know about you, but I have to eat a bowl of cereal in the morning or something before I have enough energy to do anything. Some of you have to drink 2 cups of coffee just to wake up. Jesus doesn't need anything to perform mighty miracles, all he needs is to speak the words and it is done. This is one of the miracles that proves that Jesus is sovereign over creation, and that he is divinity, God in the flesh.
Psalm 107:29-30
He made the storm be still, and the waves of the sea were hushed. Then they were glad the waters were quiet...
Colossians 1:15-17
He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.
Application:
Jesus is God. Jehovah's Witnesses and Mormons don't believe this, but Jesus is God. Don't ever let anyone tell you that Jesus is not God. I find confidence in knowing that God died on the cross for my sins. I find confidence in knowing that the one who will judge me is the one who paid the price for me. I have confidence in knowing that the one who created me is the one who will escort me into the gates of heaven. Jesus has the power to control the wind because he created wind. The sea obeys Jesus' voice because Jesus created water.
John 1:1-3
In the beginning was the Word(Jesus), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. All things were made through him, and without him was not anything made that was made.
Prayer:
Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for my sins. Thank you for your grace and your mercy. You are God almighty, Emmanuel, God with us. In Jesus name, Amen.

I am neither a JW nor a Mormon;
nevertheless, the reason why I don't believe that "Jesus is God" is because:
a) The Bible says no such thing
Rather, the Bible declares there is solely ONE GOD, and that is the Father i.e.
1 Cor 8.4,6]
the GOD and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
[2 Cor 11.31, Eph 1.3, Col 1.3, 1 Pet 1.3]
b) Jesus never ever said he was the ONE GOD!
Rather, he identified his Father,
as the only true GOD!
[John 17.3]
And personally, I believe Jesus!

You read Jesus into John 1.1!!
John did not write "Jesus"
Rather, John 1.1-3 is about the word of GOD through which GOD created all things.
(Compare Psalms 33.6,9)

the error that you made:
"It is a common but patent misreading of the opening of John's Gospel to read it as if it said:
'In the beginning was the Son, and the Son was with God and the Son was God' (John 1:1).
What has happened here is the substitution of Son for Word
(Greek logos),
[or in you case, Carlo, "substituing Jesus for Word"]
and thereby the Son is made a member of the Godhead which existed from the beginning."
