Scripture:
2 Kings 6:15-17 When the servant of the man of God got up early the next morning and went outside, there were troops, horses, and chariots everywhere. “Oh, sir, what will we do now?” the young man cried to Elisha. “Don’t be afraid!” Elisha told him. “For there are more on our side than on theirs!” Then Elisha prayed, “O Lord, open his eyes and let him see!” The Lord opened the young man’s eyes, and when he looked up, he saw that the hillside around Elisha was filled with horses and chariots of fire.
Observation:
The king of Aram wanted to arrest Elisha for helping the King of Israel. Elisha was a prophet of God and did many miracles. His life was constantly in danger. So, when a whole army came to seize Elisha, Elisha's servant became alarmed. But Elisha asked God to open the servants eyes so he could that God's army was there in spirit. The Bible says that the hillside around Elisha was filled with horses and chariots of fire.
Application:
Elisha had an advantage over the world, he had the Lord's army standing by him. As Christians, we have an even greater advantage than Elisha, Christ lives in us!
The same Jesus who created everything, the same Jesus who is supreme over everything, the same Jesus who defeated Satan and the world. If you are truly Born Again, Jesus Christ dwells in you.
Death and the grave have been defeated, the power of sin in your life has been defeated. We have all the resources of heaven because we abide in Christ. This is very encouraging because I know that nothing is impossible with God.
Prayer:
Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying for me. Thank you for my salvation. Thank you for my eternal inheritance. I pray that me and my brothers would come to the full understanding of what we have in our Lord Jesus Christ. Give me the strength I need to spread the Good News about your wonderful plan of salvation for all who believe. In Jesus name, Amen!
