Keep it clean

Scripture:

(Ephesians 5:3) Let there be no sexual immorality, impurity, or greed among you. Such sins have no place among God's people. Obscene stories, foolish talk, and coarse jokes- these are not for you. Instead, let there be thankfulness to God. You can be sure that no immoral, impure, or greedy person will inherit the Kingdom of Christ and of God.

Observation:

The Apostle Paul gives us a list of things that have no place among God's people: sexual immorality, impurity, and greed. He even tells us that people who are involved in these things aren't even inheriting the Kingdom of Christ, in other words they're not going to Heaven. He even goes on to warn us about the things we talk about like the stories and the jokes we tell.

Application:

This scripture always comes to my mind when I hear co-workers or other people engaged in conversation. 90% of the time it's either an obscene story, foolish talk, or a coarse joke. And I have to be honest, so many times on my way home from work, I'm asking God to forgive me for participating in foolish conversation.

Prayer:

Dear Lord, you created my lips, and everything that comes out of my mouth should honor you and bring glory to your name. So many times I forget that my life is not my own. Please forgive me. Thank you for eternal life! In Jesus name, Amen!
