Scripture:
Colossians 1:15-20
Christ is the visible image of the invisible God.
He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation,
for through him God created everything
in the heavenly realms and on earth.
He made the things we can see
and the things we can’t see—
such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world.
Everything was created through him and for him.
He existed before anything else,
and he holds all creation together.
Christ is also the head of the church,
which is his body.
He is the beginning,
supreme over all who rise from the dead.
So he is first in everything.
For God in all his fullness
was pleased to live in Christ,
and through him God reconciled
everything to himself.
He made peace with everything in heaven and on earth
by means of Christ’s blood on the cross.

Observation:
The existence of Jesus Christ did not begin in a manger. He did not originate out of Bethlehem. Jesus Christ, The Son of God, had no beginning. He always existed, in perfect harmony God The Father and God The Holy Spirit. The account of creation in Genesis 1:1 was the work of the Son of God, In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Jesus created heaven itself, and he created every angel in heaven. When Jesus died on the cross, he was reconciling his very own creation to himself.
The wood, used to make the cross Jesus was nailed to, came from a tree that Jesus created. The nails and spear used to pierce Jesus' flesh, were made from precious metals that Jesus created. The light that shined, the day Jesus was crucified, came from the sun that Jesus created. The clouds, that formed in the sky when Jesus died, were created by Jesus himself.
Application:
Jesus is supreme! The more I learn about The One who died for me, the more I am blown away. The more I learn about the absolute awesomeness of Jesus Christ, the more I am filled with joy! The more I learn about what it means to be justified through Christ, the more security I feel. A sinner justified by the blood of Jesus, is more righteous than a man who had never sinned a day in his life.
Prayer:
Lord Jesus, you are so awesome! You are supreme! Without you holding creation together, everything we see would fall to pieces. Thank you for dying on the cross for me! Thank you for paying the price for my sins. I love you so much, and I can't wait to see your face on that glorious day! Please help me to spread the good news of your love. In Jesus name, Amen!
